Books on CD

Books on CD have become a lifesaver for me. We are not one of those families that have a DVD in our car, not even a portable DVD. To help keep the kids entertained, keep them from arguing and, most importantly, keep my sanity, I play books on CD.

I check them out for free from the library, but I have found them reasonably priced at ITunes and Walmart Downloads. My kids are crazy about these books. It keeps them engaged and quiet while I drive, even if it is just around town doing errands.

Check out Rocks in My Dryer for more WFMW.

Books on CD are wonderful for trips. We just got home from vacation and it was amazing how fast the 10 hour drive flew by as we listened to a novel. Typically when you read a book you can't talk about it because you are reading it alone. It was so fun to be experiencing the book together so we could talk about it. : )

I love books on CD. When we went on a car trip to California a few years ago, we listen to the entire Left Behind series on Dramatic Adio. The kids were riveted!

I did the books on cd for my drive to my college campus for a full semester -it was wonderful! I made my way through a lot of novels that I would not have normally had time to read!

Great tip!

You are one smart Mommy! My Hubby and I always listen to them while we drive for work because otherwise he is a maniac due to traffic! Good frugal green tip about the library, we do the same.

I love books on tape! I check them out of the library, u/l them into my computer, d/l them into my iPod, listen while I do chores and yardwork then delete them when I'm done.

Makes chore time so much more enjoyable!

I'll have to see if our library has those. Thanks for the tip and for stopping by Wani's World!

Well I just learned something. I never thought about the library having these, or really anywhere having them for that matter. Thanks for a new tip!
