BFF: Best Friend Friday ~ High School Reunion

Even though we only live six miles apart and are both SAHMs, sometimes it is just easier to send Brenda an email than call. There are days when a dozen emails can be exchanged. In the middle of March I got an email from Brenda asking me if I got my “packet.” This weekend is our 20 year High School Reunion.

I emailed Brenda back I got my packet, but I was positive I would be rearranging my sock drawer that weekend. The next time we talked by phone Brenda told me her DH could not believe she did not want to go (he graduated from different school) and he told Brenda he was calling me to talk her into going to the reunion. When Brenda stopped laughing she told her DH there was no way I was going. We had a large graduating class and I do not think you could find many people who do not remember either Brenda or myself from high school in a good way.

Okay, work with me here, I could not find our Senior year Homecoming picture, although I remember sitting on Brenda’s Mom’s couch to get it taken and Brenda’s Mom deciding I needed a necklace and letting me wear her pearl necklace, but I cannot find the picture. So this is from our Junior year. You get the idea, we had big, Giant 80’s hair and of course were gorgeous! Since I am rambling I shall mention it took two full sets of hot rollers to do Brenda’s hair!

This is my prom picture. I took a hole punch to my date’s pictures when he dumped me, so I just have me. ;D I love this dress. It is a Victor Costa. My mom had me paged to the office when I was in class to verify, “I was sure this was the dress I wanted, it could not be returned!” I weighed over thirty pounds more here than when I got married, but thought I was fat in this picture. Don’t you love my natural tawny auburn hair – that is what the box said!

My prom date’s step-kids went to the same elementary as my boys so I have seen him recently and we have chatted-and let’s just say he is not holding up so good. I also see a few people I went to high school with at church, but Brenda is the only person I have regular contact with. I have no burning desire to find out how the girl who sat behind me in chemistry is doing, so I shall be staying home this weekend. Have any of y’all gone to your high school reunion and had fun?
